I selected this photo because it is the strongest portrait I have taken. Compositionally, this photo was taken basically head on with Mr Chase looking to his left. I decided to keep the image close up but not extremely. Warm colors such as red and yellow are consistent throughout this image which really connects the picture as a whole. This picture can easily make anyone smile with its bright colors and radiance of Chase’s happiness. Also there is consistent lighting throughout the piece although the source of light is to his left. To take this photo I had the camera set on a tri-pod and a straight on angle.
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent are the leading lines. It also contains shape, positive and negative space, pattern, and depth seen on the ceiling and beyond to the skyscrapers. When taking this photo, I adjusted my camera so that it was angled in an interesting way, which really showed my perspective from the ground. I love this photo because it reminds me of the time I had in Boston with my two best friends. The ISO was between 800-400 while the white balance was set on cloudy.
This photo was taken for the line and shape assignment at the beginning of the year. What I like about this photo is the bright colors on not only the flower but the little bugs on the stems. This photo shows depth by only focusing on the main parts of the image. My point of view while taking this photo was from down low. The photo follows the rule of thirds because the main focus, the flower, is on the right most side of the image. The white balance for this image was set on sunny and the ISO was 200.
I selected this photo because it draws in interest using leading lines and symmetry. Compositionally, there is texture, and depth of field. This photo was taking of a fence for the line and shape project and then edited to be black and white and rotated on its side. To take this photo I had the camera was handheld and I focused on the foreground to show depth. when editing I adjusted the contrast.
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is texture of the water and rocks. There is also color and symmetry of space between the sky and the rocks. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the temperature and made it a cooler tone, and also brightened the image. The camera was handheld and focused all throughout the image. This photo reminds me of my time in block island last summer. This image had a fast shutter speed and a large depth of field.
This photo was taken for the motion assignment assignment. What I like about this photo is the focus on my cousin running even though she is in motion. My point of view was from behind and over the shoulder of my friend. The photo follows the rule of thirds because the main focus of the image is to the right most part of the picture. I used a fast shutter speed to capture this image and its leading lines that show a large DOF.
